As an event organiser I get a lot of emails some good, some bad and some just junk. Yesterday, however, I clicked on an email from The Running Awards, thinking that it would be asking me to buy tickets for their forthcoming presentation night. Imagine my surprise to discover that they were contacting me to say that we had won an award! Bronze in the category of best 5K in Wales! That got me to thinking, we didn’t even know that we’d been nominated so hadn’t canvassed for any votes or support. This award was totally unsolicited and, as such even more of an honour and a true tribute to all those that work hard to make our races happen each November.
When we started Betws-y-coed Trail Challenge we had ideas about how it might pan out over the next few years, in fact, we had a plan and now it seems that all the work has paid off. Thank you to everyone that voted for us it means a tremendous amount and congratulations to Nos Galan and Cardiff 5K races for their gold and silver awards, well done guys!
Back to the grindstone for us, we have standards to aspire too - here’s to 2018 and even greater things. Diolch yn fawr pawb!
